API 10th International Conference "Recent Trends in Financing Development" Beirut, Lebanon- Call for Papers

The major objective of the Conference is to provide a forum for interaction between policy makers, researchers and interested parties to debate the issues identified under the various themes for financing development in developing countries in general, and in Arab countries in particular.
Interested researchers, from the Arab countries and beyond, are invited to submit an electronic copy (Microsoft word) of a completed manuscript (in Arabic or English) on any of the Conference themes, or any relevant theme, not exceeding 25 single-spaced pages, to the Conference Coordinator on or before 31st October 2010. Earlier submissions are strongly encouraged. All submissions will be acknowledged as soon as received.

IDSC and Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development Approves Joint Cooperation Agreement

The Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. The agreement aims at establishing a specialized unit for information management and decision support in Abu Dhabi. By virtue of the agreement, IDSC will provide executive offers to the Department regarding strategic planning for knowledge and informational projects. This process will include project strategy drafting and project preparation, as well as monitoring and evaluation of these projects. In addition, IDSC will offer the needed assistance for the Department in regard to institutional resources management. IDSC will also disseminate its experience in the field of information, which includes several activities such as data management and national indicators formulation that reflect the economic situation, in addition to several informational publications such as bulletins, periodicals, and reports..

Mechanisms of deepen the affiliation among youth and children in the Egyptian society

The Social Issues Program at the Information and Decision Support Centre held a workshop entitled " Mechanisms of deepen the affiliation among youth and children in the Egyptian society". The discussion was about the preliminary results of a study conducted by IDSC in collaboration with Cairo University, for the purpose of exploring the extent of children and youth affiliation to their country, also to identify the determinants of the sense of affiliation, and the formulating policies and mechanisms that could be converted into specific work programs to activate the feeling of affiliation among children and young people and to increase their participation in the public life.
